The same goes with parents too, respect is earned and deserved not beaten into you or some other cruel treatment or betrayal of your unholy choice.

Same goes with wives and husbands relationship to all of you medieval cavemen out there.

Plus I would add that a parent does not have the right to impose his lies on you.
